Debra "Debbie" Miller

April 20, 1957 - March 30, 2022

Surrounded with love, Debbie Miller passed from this life on March 30, 2022. Debra Elaine Smith was born on April 20, 1957 of parents Troy and Lavada Smith. Debbie is survived by her mother Lavada Mohon. She is also survived by her two sisters Diane Hendrix and Darla DeSteiger and husband John DeSteiger. Debbie and Randall Miller were joined in a match truly heaven blessed on May 17, 1975. The greatest accomplishments of their marriage are their three children: Jennifer Lee Carter, Joshua Smith Miller, and Jasmine Elise Thompson. They have been further blessed by their bonus children: Richard Carter, Joni Miller, and Christian Thompson. Their beautiful grandchildren are Whitley Elaine and Richard Troy Carter and Brody Smith Miller. Debbie was a gracious hostess, opening her home to anyone at any time. Working in the garden was a favorite past time. Her favorite home spot was the sitting area of her bedroom. This is where she sat to read and bird watch. She and Randall often drank coffee there. Debbie had a love for fast and aggressive driving. She drove her red Camaro with the top down and music blaring. The task of teaching all three children to drive fell on Debbie. Apparently, Randall was too slow and not aggressive enough for the job. She roared into the garage with the music blaring and everyone knew she was home. Debbie Miller exemplified a powerful, competitive, dynamic, joyful, positive, brave, courageous, exuberant spirit. She is the embodiment of fierce loyalty in that she lived a life filled with faithful and unwavering love for others. Being true to her values and beliefs while at the same time being humble to the Lord’s call is something she showed all of us. Debbie was an empowered woman; and with her example, she has empowered many others to be honest and authentic, to balance strength with gentleness. We remind ourselves that although this is the end of Debbie’s physical life on earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. It would be just like Debbie to roar up to the gates of heaven, top down, music blaring to be welcomed to her new home. We all realize that we have been truly blessed to have been gifted with your fierce and loyal love. We love you, Debbie.
