George Stufflebeam

George Stufflebeam was a God loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud US Navy Veteran. George went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, December 27. He was born to Charlie and Nora Stufflebeam, in Stilwell, Oklahoma on June 22, 1926. George loved music and started his music career as a country and western artist touring with Smiley Burnette and Ferlin Husky. George owned and operated George’s market in Stilwell Oklahoma for many years and was known for his beautiful selection of fruits especially strawberries. In about 1975 started to worship God through song. He formed the George Beam Family band with his wife, Dorothy Stufflebeam. Together, with their three daughters, they toured with the Chieftain Quartet out of Stilwell Oklahoma and eventually toured all over the country spreading the word of God through song and worship. George will always be remembered for his love of family, love of God, love of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. George will also be remembered for always having the most beautiful yard and garden in town. He found joy in keeping the yard and flowers beautiful. He was also one of the world's best cooks. He cooked many holiday hams and turkeys and the smell of sizzling sausage or bacon and baking biscuits for his grandkids was in the air every morning. George is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Nora, siblings Bob, Orville, Inola, Izetta, son Ronnie, and daughter Karen. George is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home, daughters Sharon Collins of Oklahoma City and Denise Dean of Tulsa, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved by many. George was a great man and the patriarch of his family, he lived a long and happy life, he will be deeply missed, but we find peace knowing he is home and in peace.
