Janice Lucille Copeland, born June 3rd 1954 in Mesa, Az, to the late Anna Marie (Hammer) Kessinger. She was raised by her daddy Billy Eugene Kessinger. Her late father was Vernon Gene Christenberry. Janice is preceded in death by the love of her life of nearly 50 years of marriage, Tommy Lee Copeland. Her mother Ann Kessinger. 2 sisters, Shirley Copeland and Karen Battlenfield. She is survived by 3 daughters; Tonya Robison, and husband Colt, Sonya Whitmire and husband Darell, Billie Haas and husband Ryan. 7 grandchildren; Stephanie, Tommy, Stephen, Tyler, Lundin, Brooklin, and Gavin. 3 great grandchildren; Tuesday, Aria, and Reuben. 2 sisters; Verna McNeil, and Gail Blevins, and 1 brother Richard Kessinger. Janice was known as Mema or Aunt Jan to all. Her home on the river welcomed anyone in need. She was generous with her self and her time. Anytime her family needed her; whether to babysit, clean their house, or sit with them at the hospital. She was there. Even if they lived states away. She was a stay at home mother until her daughters entered school. Then she became Tommy's right hand man for every job he did. They were side by side until God called him home. Janice was bereft without him and followed 3 months 22 days later. She loved hunting and fishing when she was able. She could dress and cook all of her yield. After her health failed she enjoyed reading, playing games, and visiting the casino. One of her favorite things to do was talk and tell her stories. Even when she was having trouble breathing. Her daughters had to tell her, "stop talking and breathe Mom." Her illness began 30 years ago. She was told she had 6 months to live. She defied those odds because she was a fighter. She always had a servant's heart to care for others. After fighting and caring for so many people all these years she was able to finally rest and reunite with her Savior on July 22. She gets to live in Eternal happiness and health with the love of her life and numerous loved ones waiting for her. Graveside celebration of her life will be held.
