Jason C Bennett

Jason C. Bennett was called to Heaven on December 21st, 2021 at 50 years of age. He was born on June 4th, 1971 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joe and Regina (Meredith) Bennett. He was raised in Catoosa, Oklahoma and graduated from Catoosa High School in 1989. Upon graduation, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in environmental management from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. On March 7, 1998 Jason married Kelli Dotson. They were married for 23 years and were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Baylee, Erin and Jacie. They built their home and their lives in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. They were active members of Park Hill Baptist Church where Jason and Kelli served as Sunday School teachers. They were also active with the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa. After many years working as a ranch hand and then in sales, he went back to school to become a paramedic. He worked several years at Cherokee Nation EMS and also Tahlequah City Hospital EMS. In 2009, he became a registered nurse. He spent several years working in the ICU at Tahlequah City Hospital before continuing his career at Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center. He served as a nurse manager for the ICU and most recently home telehealth and wound care. He considered it an honor to serve the veterans and always looked for ways to ensure they were receiving the best possible care. He was a great leader and friend to those he worked with. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, building and creating things. He always looked for ways to serve his family, friends and community. He had a deep appreciation for nature and his surroundings. He was a friend, a leader, a teacher, and nothing brought him more joy than taking care of Kelli and his girls. The most important thing he would want to be remembered for is his faith in God. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Bernice Bennett, and David Meredith and Beatrice Meredith. He is survived by his wife, Kelli and daughters Baylee, Erin and Jacie of the home. Parents Joe and Regina Bennett of Catoosa. Brother Scott Bennett and wife Michelle of Verdigris, and sister Lisa Bennett of Claremore. Father and mother-in-law, Larry and Linda Dotson of Tahlequah. Brothers-in-law Barry Dotson and wife Melissa, and Tory Dotson and wife Samantha, all of Tahlequah. He is survived by nieces and nephews Justin Bennett and wife Mariah, Morgan Bennett, Seth, Hailey, Caleb, Blake and Reese Dotson. He is also survived by a large host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services will be held on Monday, December 27 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church in Tahlequah. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed at www.fbctah.org. A time for public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 26 from 2:00-6:00pm at Green Country Funeral Home.
