Lloyd D. Harless Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lloyd “Dean” Harless, 75, passed away on April 5, 2022. Dean was born and raised in Tahlequah, and shortly after graduating from High School, he would enlist in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Montauk, NY, he would meet the love of his life, Catherine “Kitty” Sweetin. After serving in Vietnam and before going home to Tahlequah, Dean would stop in New Jersey to wed Kitty. Upon his return to Tahlequah, Dean graduated from Northeastern State University, and he would begin a lifelong career in Education. Dean first taught at Sequoyah High School and then at Coweta Junior High, where he would teach and coach until he retired. Dean leaves behind a wife of 52 years, Catherine “Kitty” Harless; a son, Lance (Lisa Keys) Harless; a daughter, Lori Harless; two grandchildren, Jocelyn and Talan Harless; an aunt, Wilma Vann; a sister, Sandra (George) Long; a brother, Joe Dale (Dawn) Harless; and a jerk for a cat, Bates. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd “Red” and Wanda (Vann) Harless. A memorial service will be held at Green Country Funeral Home Monday, April 11th at 10:30 am, followed by burial at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Family will receive visitors from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday, April 10th at Green Country Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you might consider donating blood, becoming an organ donor, planting a tree, or go fishing. Any financial contributions can be made in Dean’s name to the local Tahlequah VFW Post 3707.
