Mary Ellen Baldridge Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Ellen Baldridge was born on July 9, 1940, to Sephus Franklin Wing and Pearl Duvall Wing in Wagoner, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents: William Cullen Duvall and Delilah Cole Duval; brothers: Norman, Troy, Lloyd, Warren, Jimmie Jack, and Gaylen Lee Wing; sisters: Beulah Mae Knight and Novia Elaine Guinn; and one grandson, Danny Drywater. Mary leaves behind her children, Joe Dean Drywater of Stilwell, Oklahoma; Susan Whitekiller and husband Kelly of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Val Gene Drywater and wife Tina of Nespelem, Washington, and Jackie Drywater and wife Brooke of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; brothers Gilbert Wing of Watts, Oklahoma, Billy Wing of Lost City, Oklahoma, and David Wing of Westville, Oklahoma, and 39 grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. Earlier in her life, Mary was a certified medication aid in nursing homes and worked at the Tahlequah City Hospital for many years. Later she served as a home health care provider and very much enjoyed her time working with older persons. She was an avid lover of flowers. She was forever digging up flowers anywhere she could get them, and planting “starts” in her already crowded yard. Mary was also fond of animals and through the years had horses, donkeys, cows, dogs, cats, and various types of birds on her farm. She enjoyed collecting glass wear, tea sets, knick-knacks and just about anything that would make her house look pretty she could show off to others. She liked going on country drives, especially around the Peggs area where she lived as a child and attended school. When she was able, antiquing and flea markets were a favorite as she sought new treasures to add to her collections. She loved to sing gospel and was especially fond of 1960s and 1970s country music; she appreciated the opportunity to hear live music performed. Through the years, Mary liked to visit different churches and was known by many of the congregational members. In her later years, she spent time at Cherokee Elder Care and was involved, when possible, in the social activities offered there.
