Mildred Patricia Fain Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mildred Patricia Fain Loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and special friend to many. Mildred was born September 7, 1937, in Cleves, Ohio to Eli and Hattie Mae Acra. She passed from this life November 1, 2021, peacefully at her home. She graduated from Tahlequah High School Class of 1955. She attended Draughon’s Business School. Mildred accepted Christ as her Savior at the young age of 13 in Cleves, Ohio through her many churches. She most enjoyed her time at Freewill Baptist Church. She married the love of her life, Roosevelt “Buster” Fain, May 26, 1961. She could not resist him riding his Harley in his big black cowboy hat. Her first born son, Mark Lee Fain was born April 20, 1962. Her second born son, Lloyd Dwayne Fain was born July 8, 1966. She thoroughly enjoyed her sons and every moment of raising them. Due to “Buster’s” military career, being his wife brought about overseas adventures in Italy, Germany, Venice, and one of her favorite cities, Vencenza. She was by his side for 22 years of service in the United States Army. This also garnered many lifelong friendships. Mildred retired from Northeastern State University’s Physical Plant after 17 years. She built lifelong friendships here as well, with her NSU family. Mildred was a social butterfly. She loved talking to her friends and family, you especially know this if you ever tried to call her on the phone. Anyone who knew Mildred knew how important her relationships with people were. She had a giving spirit. She would give and help anyone without boasting, from doughnuts for the trash men to postage for the Blue Star Mothers. She just did not want to call attention to herself. Mildred was very involved in her community through OHCE. She recently celebrated her 35th year in Aprons and Lace extension club where she won many blue ribbons and served as treasurer of the club until she was no longer able. She treasured her OHCE family all along the way. She also served as treasurer for the Fabulous 50’s and The Class of 1955 reunions. She loved, cherished, and enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her sons, grandkids, and daughters-in-law. She cooked anything from chicken and noodles to S.O.S., per “Buster”. She is preceded in death by her husband Roosevelt “Buster” Fain; brothers, Lloyd Acra and Lee Acra. She is survived by her sons Mark Lee Fain with wife Karla of Muskogee and Lloyd Dwayne Fain with wife Lesley of Park Hill. Grandchildren, John Mark Lowrimore, Krystle Briggs, Kyle Briggs and wife Mariah, Karson Dwayne Fain, Kohl Jeremiah Fain, and Carl Edward Robbins. Her beloved pets Bella and Molly. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, and loved ones. “Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.”
