Ray M. Walsh, Jr. of Chicken Creek, Oklahoma passed Sunday, February 13th, 2022 at his home. Ray was 71 years old. Ray was born on January 28th, 1951 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated Center High School in 1970 and joined the air force in 1971. On March 3rd, 1973 he married his sweetheart, Jo Edwards, in Biloxi, MS. In July of 1977 they welcomed their son Jeffrey followed by their daughter Rebecca in August of 1983. Ray spent most of his adult career in the insurance business working for various agencies before eventually owning his own. He and Jo enjoyed spending family weekends at their lake home in Oklahoma, where they eventually moved full time. Ray was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved hustling pool, being with friends, watching old mafia movies and cooking Spaghetti. He spent many weekends coaching little league, fishing on the lake, driving the back roads, and woodworking as a hobby. He loved spending time with his grandkids and pretending he was one too. He is survived by his father Robert Gragg of Pleasant Hill, wife of 49 years, Jo, son Jeff and grandson Jayden of Pleasant Hill, daughter Rebecca and her husband Matthew, granddaughters Abbigail and Lillian of Palm Harbor, FL, and sister Carla Smith of Odessa, and aunt Lora Wise of Independence, MO. A celebration of life will be scheduled in Kansas City on March 12, 2022. Details to follow later. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at the Chicken Creek volunteer fire department in Cookson, OK. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
